- Hook
- A large grey sculptural form fills the sheet corner to corner while hand-drawn lettering runs across it at multiple angles and dense text columns are packed into every remaining edge strip.
- Hierarchy
- The drawn title reads first because of scale and stroke weight, the object mass second, and the micro-text last as a deliberate dense texture.
- Energy
- Irregular hand-drawn display lettering in Cyrillic and Latin sits over tiny justified sans body columns, so the type range spans hand-made and mechanical with almost nothing in between.
- Transfer
- Use one hand-made display layer over one mechanical micro-text layer and skip intermediate sizes; let a single flat background colour hold a busy monochrome image apart from its surroundings.
Why it works
Extreme scale contrast between hand lettering and 6pt text keeps a very high-density surface navigable, and the flat cyan stops the greyscale mass from collapsing into mud.
What to borrow
Use one hand-made display layer over one mechanical micro-text layer and skip intermediate sizes; let a single flat background colour hold a busy monochrome image apart from its surroundings.

Image strategyOpenClose
A textured monochrome object is knocked out against flat cyan and then written on, treating the image as a writing surface rather than a picture to be framed.
Color strategyOpenClose
One bright cyan ground against greyscale imagery and black ink, so a single manufactured colour separates figure from field with no midtones.
